The Chevrolet Corvette C5 is the 5th generation of the Corvette series which was manufactured between 1997 and 2004. The Chevrolet Corvette C5 designated a radical change from all previous generations of Corvettes. Instead of being designed as a coupe the Chevrolet Corvette C5 was designed purely as a convertible from the beginning as a sturdy Chevrolet Corvette C5 convertible sports car which got rid of the squeaks and rattle that was evident in Chevrolet Corvette C4 Coupe.  In 1998 a hatchback version was produced.
