de Havilland Comet 4 Airliner was the world's first successful passenger jet aircraft. In 1958 the De Havilland Comet 4 as shown in the photograph made the very first schedule air flight across the Atlantic while in the service of BOAC. de Havilland Comet 4s was replaced with Boeing 707s and VC10s in 1974.
