The Ferrari 365 4.4 Litre Grand Tourer went through a production from 1967 through to 1971 of which 800 was built. Also known as the Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 a a four-seat coupe that replaced  Ferrari 330 GT 2+2. The Ferrari 365 Grand Tourer Sports is a luxury sport car with luxurious leather seats, power steering and brakes, electric windows, and optional air conditioning. The Ferrari 365 Grand Tourer 2+2 quickly became the Ferrari's top-selling model in the United States. The Ferrari 365 Grand Tourer 2+2 was the first 2+2 sports car with an independent rear suspension.

Ferrari also came up with another first in automotive engineering.  The Ferrari 365 Grand Tourer 2+2's rear wishbones, coil springs, Koni shocks, and antiroll bar were supplemented by a hydro-pneumatic self-leveling system. This Koni development by Ferrari was designed to compensate for the weight of rear seat passengers.
