The Gloster Meteor F8 Jet Fighter is said to be the first operational jet to be used in the services of the British RAF during WWII. The Gloster Meteor F8 Jet Fighter made its maiden flight on the 5th March 1943. A Meteor was used in the first ground level ejection seat tests .
