Liberty V12 Aero Engine was designed in 1917 by US automobile companies such as Packard and Hall-Scott Motor Car Co. Packard, Lincoln, Ford and General Motors. all did the final assembly on the Liberty V12 air cooled engine. One of the most used powerful workhorse engines of WWI in the United States
Liberty V12 Engines was also in use during WWII by the British and the Russians fitted in their Tanks. More than 20,000 Liberty V12 were built.
