Lyncar Formula One Race was originally designed by Martin Slater specially for British Formula Atlantic Championship. Slater's design prove highly successful as the Lyncar Formula 1 race car won the British Formula Atlantic Championship in successive years 1973 and 1974 driven both times by John Nicholson.
