The new Porsche 987 Boxster is a mid-engined Sports car equipped with a  2.7-litre flat-six  245 bhp Boxster engine with Vario-Cam plus valve control, and variable valve timing. The valve lift changeover mechanism uses two-position bucket-type tappets on the inlet side, set in motion by an electro hydraulic valve. New  Porsche 987 Boxster Sport has more power and torque to give superior performance. Porsche 987 Roadsters can be supplied with modified Tiptronic S transmission, consisting of hydraulics and electronics with variable shift programs.
