Rolls Royce Derwent Turbo aero Engine was a very powerful Turbo engine of its time with a remarkable static trust of 3, 600lbs of which production had begun in 1945 born out of the outstanding Rolls Royce Derwent 5 aero engine. The Derwent 8 was fitted in the Gloster Meteor.
