Rolls Royce Griffon 57A Aero Engine shown in the Photograph is a Twelve cylinder liquid cooled supercharged V-type aero engine. Griffon Supercharged engines was quite successful in powering the later models of the Spitfire. The Griffon served the RAF for a good 48 years.
