WWI Sopwith Pup Fighter was a single-seat fighting scout plane it is the forerunner of the Sopwith Camel. Late in 1916 during WWI, Sopwith Pups destroyed 20 enemy aircraft. The Pup was removed from front line and used as Home Defense unit fighter against the Zeppelins.
In 1917, a Sopwith Pup piloted by Squadron Commander E. H. Dunning, RN conducted the first landing on the worlds first aircraft carrier, HMS Furious. 1st April 1918 RAF was Formed.
